Dr. Dowd has been an orthopedic surgeon for the past 22 years here in Grants Pass, Oregon. He went to Medical School at The University of California, San Diego and finished his undergraduate degree at the University of California, Davis. He enjoys his interactions with all of the fascinating individuals who live in Josephine and Jackson Counties. He thinks there are so many interesting people here and everyone has unique interests and accomplishments. He finds it fun getting to know people. He published two articles about bone infections while studying at the University of California, Davis.
In his current practice at Valley Immediate Care, his ideal patient would be one whom is interested in their injury. They want to participate in the decision making process and are willing to work hard to obtain the best outcome. Our best results occur when we work together.
When not working he enjoys spending time with his wife and three kids. He also enjoys fishing, auto restoration, landscaping and general fabrication. Dr. Dowd built a 1966 Mustang with his son and a 1965 Mustang with his daughter. He recently completed his 1935 Ford Coupe which he started in high school.
