Dan Wieking, MD has been in practice here in Grants Pass for 4 years. He went to medical school at the University of California San Diego, he did his Orthopedic Residency at Oregon Health Sciences University and his Fellowship at Melbourne Orthopedics Group in Australia where specialized in Foot and Ankle Surgery.
Although IDr. Wieking does a lot of non-operative management, what he likes the best on a personal level is being able to accomplish something physically with surgery that the patient can appreciate as an improvement for their quality of life. Matching the right patient with the right treatment for their goals and expectations is the whole art.
Dr. Wieking’s ideal patient is someone who is excited to participate in their care and willing to take a long view of progress and be honest with themselves about their goals and realistic with their expectations. Medicine can offer a lot, but it can’t do everything, and a positive attitude and engagement often makes all the difference.
Outside of work he enjoys spending time with his family on their mini farm, fishing, camping and hunting.
