Conventional approaches do not always work. If you are not addressing your flexibility and movement quality you are putting yourself at risk of serious injury.
THIS PROBLEM REQUIRES
an athlete to focus on flexibility and stability problems that increase their risk of injury. This is important because if you do not have these two things your chance of injury increases drastically. If you ignore it, you could end up with a severe injury in practice or at a sporting event. At times the injuries are bad enough that they could prevent you from participating in your sport for an entire season or more. Then, you might be told that you need surgery, and your time away from the sport increases.
ONE QUICK TIP
for you to try is the hamstring test. If you are unable to lie on you back and actively raise your leg to 90 degrees you are putting yourself at risk of injury.
ONE REASON WHY
I’m sharing this with you is because I have treated too many athletes who have been injured or had to skip competitions when a simple injury prevention program would have helped them tremendously. I know what it’s like because I too have been an injured athlete who is unable to compete.
Some of the most common causes of injury are poor flexibility and/or instability which puts repetitive forces on your joints and ligaments. This can lead to compromised and potentially dangerous positions that cause serious injury.
