I am often asked “How much better can I really get?”. Particularly with my patient who are in their 7th, 8th and 9th decades they wonder how much better can they be. I have a few links that may challenge your ideas about what you are able to do. These people are certainly outliers but we should all remember that our bodies are capable of amazing things if we allow them.
One of the most enjoyable aspects of my job is that I regularly see patient achieve things that they were unable to do before physical therapy. For many of us this may be relatively minor things like lifting grandkids or playing a round of golf without pain. However, we shouldn’t settle for anything less than what we are absolutely capable of.

The bottom line is that we are all capable of amazing things. We just have to unlock our body’s potential. How can we unlock our potential? In my own personal experience, I have improved faster when I get some coaching. A second set of eyes are useful to help evaluate where you can make adjustments.
Do you have physical activities that you are unable to do but would like to? If so, physical therapy is likely a way to achieve your goals. PT’s are very helpful in evaluating what is keeping you from achieving your goals and what is needed to speed up your progress. I love helping people achieve their goals and gain a great deal of inspiration from my patients.
